Production Planner

Production Planner

Key Deliverables:

  • Parts are ready to ship 3 days early (3DEOT)
  • Customers are kept up to date on order status
  • Expedite requests are resolved to the best solution possible
  • Conflicts in customer need and production capacities are resolved
  • Purchases from outside service suppliers are managed (pricing and delivery)

Specific Tasks

  1. Schedule shop orders for incoming discrete POs
  2. Internal Production Planning
    1. Review Kanban parts & BOMs and keep shop orders in place to cover requirements
    2. Watch for trouble spots on schedule and work towards resolution
    3. Keep awareness of the whole supply chain – from materials to final assembly
    4. Daily customer updates on likely late deliveries in the next 1-2 weeks
    5. Daily update and email “Shipping Report” (any time after 2:00 PM)
    6. Update RMA ship dates in sales orders
  3. Outside Service Scheduling
    1. Coordinate with O/S vendors (plating, anodizing, etc)
      1. Manage pricing in POs.
      2. Managing delivery with suppliers (communicating needs, expedites, follow-ups)
  • Manage approval status of parts at specific vendors
  1. Daily review late POs for outside service (plating and machining) and customer supplied materials.
    1. Follow-up with customers on late customer-supplied arrivals for material and update the schedule and update PP if it will affect their schedule.
    2. Update people as needed if parts are coming back late from o/s
  • Update team lead on material machining deliveries

Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills are required with focus on MS Excel, Visual EstiTrack (MRP), and e-mail management
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reason abilities
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Skill in negotiating competing needs to find creative solutions
  • Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Sense of urgency to meet customer needs
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to sit, stand, climb, walk, use hands, and talk and hear for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Able to move frequently and regularly requiring the use of wrists, hands, and fingers
  • 1-2 years of experience Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or Material Resource Planning (MRP) experience or ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and work well other individuals within the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Review and complete data entry on job orders to ensure ERP and inventory accuracy
  • Schedules factory work orders based on available capacity and demand
  • Assist in proactively managing manufacturing capacity planning to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Work with purchasing on outside processes to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Collaborate with customer, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, quality, and shipping
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of related business processes
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of planning rules and modifiers to drive ERP system
  • Must be able to gain a general understanding of our production process and collaborate with production to meet customer needs
Band Saw Set-Up and Operator

Band Saw Set-up and Operator

The Turning department is looking for a band saw operator who can provide cut material for their team. Previous experience operating on a saw is preferred but not required for this position.

Some qualities, expectations, and requirements for this role include:

  • Able to or willing to learn how to set up band saw and operator
  • Able to utilize various inspection techniques and tools, such as, calipers, height gage, tape measure, and other gaging to inspect machined parts
  • Willingness to learn our inventory system for pulling and processing material
  • Basic math and geometry skills desired
  • Continuous learner – through onsite training and personal initiative, you continue to improve upon your skills
  • A desire to reach expected production and personal goals
  • Able to move 30-100 lbs
  • Able or willing to learn to operate a forklift
  • Willing to learn how to set up secondary machines as necessary for cut material

 

Quality Control Technician

Quality Control Technician

The Quality department is looking for someone to join the team to be a part of on the floor inspection, first article inspection, in process inspection, and final inspection. Previous experience in quality inspection and test is preferred. Below are expectations, requirements, and responsibilities in the role:

  1. Inspection of parts using some of the following tools
    1. Faro Arm
      1. Open to learning or able to program
    2. Keyence
      1. Open to learning or able to program
    3. CMM
      1. Open to learning or able to program
    4. Calipers
    5. Micrometers
      1. Including bore mics, blade mics, etc.
    6. Profilometer
    7. Part specific gaging
    8. Thread gages
  2. Read and Interpret blueprints
    1. Understand and willing to learn GD & T prints
    2. Understand and apply our manufacturing standards
  3. Able to use interpersonal communication skills across various departments specifically about quality discrepancies, concerns, and defects.
    1. Open and willing to train others in inspection processes, resources, and tools.
  4. Basic understanding and application of six sigma, specifically gage repeatability and reproducibility.
  5. Understanding or willingness to learn quality system tools such as:
    1. Root Cause Analysis
    2. FMEA
    3. Cause and Effect Fishbone Diagrams
    4. Process Flow Diagrams
    5. Probability and Data Sampling
    6. Corrective and Preventive Actions
  6. Understanding and application of math and geometry
  7. Sense of urgency to meet customer needs both internally and externally.
  8. Open to change and continuous improvement throughout all aspects of quality systems
  9. Able to lift or move 30-40 lbs.
Quality Systems Lead

Quality System Lead

Our Quality System department is looking for a leader who will facilitate a healthy culture and organizational performance through quality systems development and continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Lead the Quality Support Services team activities. Quality Support Services role is to interact with the floor to assist in proper measuring techniques to create a less than 2% cost of quality output through
    1. Ongoing leadership and management of the staff.
    2. Lead the Inspection/Test activities
      1. Equipment and skills oversight
      2. Shop floor verification of product throughout the process.
    3. Lead Quality systems
      1. Ensure quality systems are functioning correctly
    4. Feedback to our team on process results.
  2. Quality Systems sustainment and advancement. Quality System is our organization’s blueprint: it identifies our model and processes, provides details on how processes work together allowing for processes to drive the outcome.
    1. Leadership of ISO certification registration
      1. Audit Core and Support Process throughout the year
      2. Conduct Management Review with Leadership
    2. Best Practice Development
      1. Train and facilitate for the maturation of our processes in the overall development of our quality system
      2. Develop new and use existing tools and guidelines to refine and integrate best practice development within organization
    3. Work instruction management.
  3. Customer and vendor interface responsibilities. We believe in partnerships and finding solutions for ineffective processes both internal and external. Maintain relationships with open dialog that when concerns arise a trust has been established for help and support.
    1. Quality concerns and collaboration.
      1. AR’s/RMA
      2. MRB
      3. CAR
      4. Supplier quality development. (client and vendor)Facilitating quality processes for new products from APQP through PPAP processes.
  4. Continuous improvement process leadership through audits and events. Schedule and lead CIP events with the goal of developing a culture of continual improvement to promote process as the driver for progress.
  5. Training coordinator – Identify deficiencies for training needs in order to bring the awareness of processes in place and an understanding of their implementation.
    1. Identify training needs through AR/RMA/CAR, and safety along with other data
    2. Support trainers
    3. Audit trainings
  6. Health and Safety – Audit plant to find ways to improve safety.
    1. Direct Health and Safety Team
    2. Ensure OSHA regulations are in place and being followed per company policies
    3. Other governmental mandates as appropriate
  1. Collaborate with our team leads and support staff directors to facilitate continued health within the organization.
        Maintenance Technician

        Maintenance Technician

        Our Maintenance department is looking for a technician to join their team. Previous experience in manufacturing maintenance, specifically CNC equipment. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning, troubleshooting, working with a team to improve and repair equipment, and is open to continuous improvement.

         

        Some qualities and expectations for this role include:
        • Follow through to complete work orders assigned.
        • Able to complete work orders individually as well as with others in the maintenance department as necessary.
        • Continuous learner – through onsite training and personal initiative, you continue to improve upon your skills.
        • A desire to reach expected departmental and personal goals.
        • Diagnose current and potential breakdowns in equipment. ( CNC and Manual)
          • Electrical.
          • Mechanical.
          • Hydraulic and pneumatic.
        • Complete assigned repairs in the physical plant.
          • Grounds and building.
          • Production equipment.
        • Call manufacturers to assist in the diagnosis equipment and repair of the equipment.
        Preferred Requirements:
        • Previous experience with Fanuc and Okuma controls.
        • Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical experience in manufacturing equipment including CNC Machines.

        Wage

        We base each employee’s hourly wage on experience, skill and position.

        Second Shift

        Second shift hours run from 2 PM through midnight, Monday through Thursday. Our second shift employees receive a bonus pay and extended hours, additional days, and overtime as necessary.

        Health Insurance

        For major medical insurance, Cutting Edge Machine and Tool, Inc. pays up to 78% of the employee’s premiums including their family participants. Employees also have the option to purchase dental and vision plans. Along with the major medical insurance is an HSA (Health Savings Account). CEMTI will match $2 to $1 for this account.

        Retirement

        CEMTI matches funds employees deposit into their SIMPLE IRA fund. Individual employees select their particular investment fund.

        Continued Education

        CEMTI pays up to 100% of approved classes for employees.

        Uniforms

        CEMTI shares the cost of uniform rental and washing and provides financial help and payment plans for purchasing tools. We also provide a yearly shoe allowance.
