Cutting Edge Machine & Tool is looking for a machinist to join our Swiss department and help make those parts with care and precision.

Experience operating and setting up Swiss machines is preferred, but it is not required. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in accurate work, works well with others, and is eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to produce parts to specification.
• Machine parts on Star ECAS20 and Star ECAS32 Swiss lathes.
• Inspect parts throughout the shift using calipers, thread gages, height gages, and other measuring tools.
• Maintain proper fluid levels on the machines you operate.
• Keep your work area clean and follow safe work practices.
• Work with teammates in the department and across the organization as needed.
• Help improve processes by identifying waste and putting practical improvements into action.

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and developing Cutting Edge solutions to meet our customers at their point of need. Your work will directly impact industries ranging from automotive to agriculture, shaping the way people live, work, and thrive in a rapidly evolving world. We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our manufacturing engineering team. This role blends design support, process development, and CNC programming, with a focus on milling, turning, and Swiss-type machining. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between early-stage concept work and hands-on shop floor process refinement, and has strong working knowledge of PartMaker and Fusion 360 for lathe, Swiss, and milling programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development Support Collaborate with engineering and design teams on new product concepts, providing manufacturability input early in the design cycle. Refine part designs and assemblies for producibility, cost reduction, and tolerance optimization, working in SolidWorks alongside design engineers to balance functional requirements against machining realities.
  
• CNC Process Development Develop and document CNC processes for milling, turning, and Swiss-type machining operations, from raw stock through finished part. Create and optimize CNC programs using PartMaker (lathe/Swiss) and Fusion 360 (milling and general CAM), and select appropriate machining strategies, fixturing approaches, and operation sequencing for new and existing jobs.
• Tooling Source and specify cutting tools, workholding, and fixturing for both new part introductions and ongoing production, evaluating tooling options for cost, cycle time, and tool life, and maintaining relationships with tooling vendors to stay current on new technology.

• Continuous Improvement Troubleshoot and refine existing processes to improve cycle time, quality, and consistency. Support root cause investigations for process-related quality issues and implement corrective actions, and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and setup sheets.

Qualifications

Required (non-negotiable):

• Hands-on machining experience operating mills and/or lathes (Swiss experience a strong plus)
• Experience reviewing part/assembly designs for manufacturability, identifying and resolving producibility issues before they reach the floor
• Working understanding of CNC programming and G-code — able to read, interpret, and edit code, not just operate through conversational/CAM-only workflows
• Familiarity with cutting tools and tooling selection across various materials and operations
• A degree is not required — candidates who meet the above through direct shop and programming experience are strongly preferred over degree-only candidates lacking hands-on time.

Preferred:

• Proficiency with SolidWorks for part/assembly design and review
• Programming experience with PartMaker and/or Fusion 360
• Solid understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
• Experience with screw machine or high-volume precision turning environments
• Prior experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production

Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections of setup parts and conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Conduct on-the-floor part inspection audits to maintain production quality.
• Operate and program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for inspections, ensuring the highest standards are met.
• Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, height gauges, and Faro arms (preferred but not required).
• Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and workspace that supports efficiency.
• Use Lean concepts to improve processes and minimize waste.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment, supporting colleagues as needed.
• Follow and implement the company’s mission statement and operating principles.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of inspection results, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Willing to work extended hours or additional days when overtime is necessary, as directed by the team leader.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in quality inspection, especially inspecting setup and in-process parts is desired but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong math skills and the ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Experience with CMM operation and programming is desired but not required.
• Familiarity with Faro arm operation and programming is preferred but not required.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• High school diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency required.
• Preferably a degree or certification in CNC machining, or vocational/trade school training.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a fast learner with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

• Ability to work within set first shift hours, with flexibility for overtime when necessary.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for handling parts throughout the shipping and inventory process, ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality in every step. The Shipping Clerk will work with a variety of equipment, prepare and package parts, and occasionally deliver products to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately place incoming parts into inventory following established procedures.
• Move parts safely and efficiently using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Load and unload vans using forklifts and proper material handling techniques.
• Occasionally deliver parts directly to customers and vendors in a professional and timely manner.
• Generate and process purchase orders for outside service providers.
• Maintain high standards of packaging, labeling, and presentation of parts.
• Complete paperwork and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow company safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven ability to follow procedures and maintain accuracy in part counts and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and precision.
• Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred, or willingness to be trained).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required for occasional deliveries).
